Echoes II

Echoes II was selected for the Royal Society of British Artists Annual Exhibition at Mall Galleries, London, February 2026.

Echoes II is a solid aluminium interpretation of my larger work Echoes I, installed permanently on the Dover waterfront, commissioned by Royal British Veteran Enterprise.

Echoes I was inspired by the acoustic mirrors built nearly 100 years ago that still dot the south-eastern coast of England — listening devices that predated and helped shape the development of RADAR.

This smaller, heavier object — 45 kilograms of solid aluminium — sits quietly on a table or plinth, taking in all the sounds around it and reflecting, visually, everyone who passes by.

I hope it gives viewers pause. A moment to stop, to look at themselves, and to reflect — without haste.
